A Piano-tastic Course!

I've always wanted to learn how to play piano but not wanting to get bogged down in musical theory or reading music (although would be useful!). I'm more of a pick up and play sorta guy! Why would you learn chords on the piano any other way?

I've been playing music for almost my entire life. For years, I've been telling myself I'm going to learn to play the piano, but never got around to it. Thanks to Mr. Glenister, I will FINALLY learn how to play the piano! His approach to learning chords makes total sense. As I was watching the videos (armed with my limited knowledge of music theory), I kept thinking, “Duh!" Music is all about pattens. Instead of finding, learning, and memorizing the chords, just look for and learn the patterns. If all you want to do is rock out on the piano, why would you learn chords any other way?

The Perfect Start

Like Simon, I'm a drummer first and foremost, but I've always composed my own music at home, mainly by ear and rarely by using what little musical knowledge I was taught at school. So building a solid knowledge of the basics was something I've wanted to do for some time, if only so that I could know exactly what I was playing so I could articulate that to other musicians. This course does the three incredibly important things that all learners need when starting on something that may prove daunting and that is to make it fun, easy and rewarding. The fact that at the end of the 30 minutes, you're playing the chords from one of the greatest pop songs ever written, you suddenly realise that it isn't that scary and even pop geniuses use these very chords to create their masterpieces. Furthermore, Simon's delivery is so simple that I fully intend to let my 10 year old daughter take the course as she is beginning to show an interest in playing the piano. Great course and tutor.

Wow! A great approach to learning the piano. As someone who learned piano as a child I was keen to start it up again and this course was a really great place to start. It would have taken many months of 'traditional' lessons to learn what Simon teaches in such a short space of time. And I'm sure traditional lessons wouldn't have been as much fun. If you're interested in playing piano then this course is a brilliant place to start and will give you plenty of chords to get you playing your favourite songs in super quick time.

I can't believe how easy he makes it

I love this. Some background to help you decide if you want to take my word for it–I don't play the piano, I don't own a piano, and, in fact, I don't play any musical instrument or know how to read music. But I took this course because I've always wanted to play. I have little piano apps on my iPhone and iPad. I love to dink on them.
